Cardinal, a family-owned leader in protein innovation for more than a century, partnered with 5fold to launch an exciting new line of premium at-home meals. Known for its long history of quality and culinary expertise, Cardinal sought to introduce a consumer-facing brand that could bring restaurant-quality meals into the home, offering delicious, convenient options made with the same care and craftsmanship that define the company’s heritage.
We worked closely with the Cardinal team to build the brand from the ground up, creating a strategy and design system that would appeal to modern shoppers while staying true to the company’s values. The project encompassed every stage of development, from early mood boards and creative direction to naming, copywriting, logo design, and visual identity. The goal was to craft a brand that felt both premium and approachable, speaking to food lovers who value quality and convenience in equal measure.
The visual identity balances warmth and sophistication, combining clean typography, rich food photography, and a refined colour palette that evokes freshness and appetite appeal. The logo and packaging system were designed to stand out in retail environments while communicating trust, flavour, and authenticity. To support the launch, we developed tradeshow booths, point-of-sale displays, and in-store sampling activations that helped the brand make a strong first impression, along with a polished, user-friendly website where shoppers could explore the full product line and find retail locations.
The result is a crave-worthy brand that looks as good as it tastes, now available in retailers across Canada. The new identity captures Cardinal’s spirit of innovation and commitment to great food shared with family and friends, positioning the company for continued success in the growing ready-to-eat market.
